We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cloud SecOps Engineer to join our Information Technology team on a permanent, full-time basis. This hybrid role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, or Adelaide.

This SecOps Engineer role is responsible for securing, maintaining and enhancing the AWS cloud platform by implementing security controls, managing security tools and embedding security automation into DevSecOps processes. This role is part of the platform engineering team, which builds and maintains the AWS landing zone and foundational cloud toolchains (e.g. Prisma CNAPP, GitLab, Terraform, Vault, Nexus). While this team provides onboarding, governance and security tooling for workloads, it does not own or manage application workloads directly.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the configuration, management, and integration of Palo Alto Prisma (CSPM, CWPP, CIEM) to enforce cloud security best practices and enhance overall security posture.
• Automate security monitoring and remediation using Prisma, AWS Security Hub, and GuardDuty, ensuring compliance with CIS AWS Benchmarks, NIST, and ISO 27001.
• Secure and enforce cloud infrastructure security standards by implementing best practices in Terraform and CloudFormation templates, developing pre-deployment security validation, and integrating policy-as-code for automated security controls.
• Support application teams by providing security tools for SAST/SCA vulnerability scanning, integrating pre-deployment security scanning for container images (Prisma), and enforcing least-privilege IAM policies within CI/CD pipelines.
• Investigate and respond to cloud security incidents, identify platform misconfigurations, and address workload protection alerts, leveraging hands-on experience in incident response, threat mitigation, and automation of security playbooks.

Your background

• Handson IT security experience, including focused on AWS cloud security, with hands-on experience managing and operating Prisma CNAPP for CSPM, CWPP, and CIEM.
• Extensive experience in DevSecOps toolchains (GitLab, Terraform, CloudFormation, Nexus) and integrating security tooling (SAST, SCA, container scanning) into CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure application development.
• Strong knowledge of security monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and ITIL service management, with experience in SIEM integration (Exabeam), privileged access management (Delinea), and key management (HashiCorp Vault).
• Hands-on experience securing container and orchestration platforms (ECS, EKS, Docker), with a deep understanding of security frameworks and controls specific to containerized workloads.
• Strong expertise in AWS security services (IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty, KMS, SCPs, VPC security) and proficiency in Terraform and CloudFormation for securing infrastructure and enforcing policy-as-code (Sentinel, OPA, Checkov, Conftest).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the operations and maintenance of the hybrid IT domains and associated infrastructure

Your background

About the Team

The Networks Finance function is accountable for delivering management accounting services for the AGN networks (SA, VIC, NSW, QLD), GDI network (QLD) and APA's own Central Ranges network. Finance facilitates management decision-making and organisational performance by establishing APA accounting policy and governance for the group's financial systems.

The team is accountable for statutory financial reporting, the treasury back office, company financial policy, technical accounting, regulatory accounting, business advice, finance system support and enhancement. In terms of accounting services provided to APA's managed investments and Networks, this Networks Finance team is further accountable for budgeting & forecasting, haulage revenue, capital and operational expenditure analysis and financial management.

Reporting to the Customer Management and Billing Value Stream Manager, this role is responsible for leading and managing a team of Systems Analysts and Analyst Programmers. It will oversee the delivery of high-quality application development, design, testing, and support services to APA's Business Units. With significant interaction across the business, the role also provides technical leadership in system support and design, system administration, full application lifecycle management, and the ongoing development and monitoring of critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a high-performing team to ensure consistent delivery and maintenance of IT services, aligned with agreed service levels and business expectations.
• Own the Incident Manager role for major incidents, ensuring timely resolution, effective communication, and minimal disruption across critical system platforms.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer - Patching Compliance & Reporting to join our Information Technology Team on a permanent, full-time basis. role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane.

This role oversees patch management, governance, and compliance with industry best practices and regulations across the server infrastructure and end user computing stack. It ensures APA IT/OT systems follow an up-to-date patching regime, addressing security vulnerabilities per APA standards. Additionally, it involves analysing and improving patching practices, reporting compliance, and collaborating with stakeholders for effective risk management.

We're looking for someone who thrives in complex environments, works autonomously, and is ready to lead the development and evolution of this function. This is a highly self-directed role where you'll be expected to take ownership, drive change, and demonstrate leadership capabilities. You'll help shape strategy, influence decision-making, and be a key contributor in APA's broader security and compliance uplift. Confidence in having tough conversations and a proactive mindset will be essential to success.

Key Responsibilities

• Patching & Compliance Management Provide Level 2 support for APA's patching systems, oversee patching activities in line with vulnerability management standards, and ensure compliance through effective reporting and risk assessment.
• Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with system SMEs, owners, and business units to design, implement, and remediate security controls, manage vulnerability risks, and refine patching processes to align with industry best practices.
• Security & Vulnerability Management Assist in developing, refining, and governing security controls, application whitelisting, desktop security measures, and vulnerability identification tools while ensuring compliance with security standards.
• Work with vendors to resolve patching-related incidents, support outsourced partners in hardware patching execution, and engage security teams for vulnerability assessments and remediation strategies.
• Monitor and report patching compliance, identify remediation actions, automate manual processes, maintain ITSM calendars, and mentor junior team members to enhance operational efficiency.

Your background

• Degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science or related fields is desirable however, equivalent hands-on experience in systems administration, patching, or vulnerability management within a complex IT/OT environment is equally valued, particularly where such experience can be demonstrated or spoken to with confidence.
• Deep understanding of Microsoft technologies (SCCM, MCP, MCSE, MCSA, MCTS), Citrix, Ivanti, Intune, Tenable, Windows, VMware, and Cloud platforms (Azure & AWS).
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as PSPF, ISO27001, ISO27002, and familiarity with SCADA systems and IT governance best practices.
• Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, work autonomously, prioritise tasks in integrated, technical environments, and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.Confidence in having tough conversations and the ability to challenge the status quo to drive continuous improvement.
• Strong commitment to ITIL processes (ideally ITIL V4 accredited), SLA management, conflict resolution, resilience under pressure, and a mindset for continuous improvement and HS&E best practices.

The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Lead Data Engineer in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney or Brisbane on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Transformation & Governance Manager, this role serves as the Lead Data Engineer, requiring extensive expertise in Databricks and AWS, coupled with a proven track record in establishing and developing cloud-based Data Platform teams. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Big Data and Data Lake technologies across both cloud and on-premises environments, a deep understanding of data warehousing methodologies, and a strong focus on improving data quality and documentation processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of data pipelines, ETL processes and data models on AWS Databricks.
• Ensure the adoption of best practices in data engineering, including data quality, optimisation and security.
• Translate high-level architecture into actionable implementation plans.
• Ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable and secure along with mentoring team members.
• Conduct code reviews, design reviews and ensure the team follows best practices in version control, CI/CD and DevOps for data engineering.
• Ensure data governance, security and quality standards are maintained throughout the data lifecycle.
• Monitor and support data management initiatives, including within specific environments like AWS/Databricks.

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Strong experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Azure Cloud and Azure Databricks.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, data modelling, ETL processes and cloud based technologies.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring technical teams
• Proficiency across Python, SQL and Scala
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
