Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a School Administration Officer to join School of Nursing, Faculty of Health.
The School Administration Officer provides high quality school based administrative assistance in the Faculty of Health, undertaking a broad range of duties across all areas, including teaching and research support, student enquiries, and events and travel coordination. The School Administration Officer works closely with the School Manager, School Executive Assistant and other specialised roles to meet the administrative requirements of the school, delivering exceptional outcomes and service to internal and external stakeholders. The School Administration Officer also collaborates on and contributes to a range of major projects within the school and wider Faculty.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training or relevant experience equivalent to completion of an associate diploma with relevant experience in an administrative position, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- High level interpersonal skills with the ability to provide professional administrative support with proven ability to collaborate and communicate with a range of people at all levels both within QUT and external to QUT.
- Demonstrated digital literacy skills including ability to effectively work with Microsoft suite of products (particularly Excel) as well as corporate systems and other information sources to extract and interpret data.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative to solve problems, manage priorities to meet deadlines, and work productively without close supervision to support a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong written communication skills including the ability to draft memoranda, meeting agendas and minutes, correspondence, submissions and emails with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

We are seeking a Apprentice - Engineering Mechanical Trade (Machining), Banyo Pilot Plant Precinct to join Research Infrastructure, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.
The Apprentice Mechanical Engineer (Machining) role combines structured off the job training with practical, on the job experience. Under the supervision of qualified tradespersons, the apprentice will develop skills across all aspects of machining within a workshop environment. This position is a formal training role and operates in accordance with the requirements and obligations outlined in the relevant Training Contract. Through the apprenticeship program, the apprentice will gain both theoretical knowledge and hands on experience in the manufacture, repair, and replacement of engineering components used across a range of machinery and plant equipment. The role also includes opportunities to contribute to the design and fabrication of modifications, as well as developing competencies in the maintenance and servicing of pilot plant infrastructure.

What you need to succeed
1. Demonstrated willingness and ability to undertake and complete a Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade, including applying skills in the workplace under supervision.
2. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, communicate effectively and complete straightforward tasks with guidance and within set priorities, timeframes and procedures while demonstrating developing initiative.
3. Physical capability to safely perform routine workshop tasks, including the use of basic tools, handling materials, and adhering to workplace health and safety requirements.

What you need to succeed

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Applied and Computational Mathematics) to join School of Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Science.
We are recruiting for a talented and highly motivated post-doctoral fellow to join an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Project on “New mathematical models for brain tissue microstructure imaging”. Diffusion MRI is a modern medical imaging method for neuroscientists and clinicians to non-invasively study the brain. However, the mechanism underlying diffusion MRI signal formation, due to the movement of water molecules in complex brain tissue, is still unclear. This project aims to develop the next generation mathematical framework to interpret and model diffusion MRI signals, enabling more sensitive and specific imaging markers for characterising brain tissue microstructure. The post-doctoral fellow will contribute to the development of novel mathematical models and computational methods for advanced diffusion MRI microstructure imaging.

The School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS) is a vibrant, multidisciplinary school with extensive teaching and research programs covering the fields of statistics, operations research and applied and computational mathematics. There are currently 26 full-time academic staff members employed in the School, including ten Professors and five Associate Professors. The school also employs over 25 research only academic staff in full time and part time positions. The School hosts a node of MACSYS, an ARC Centre of Excellence for the Mathematical Analysis of Cellular Systems and is a key partner in QUT's Centre for Data Science. What you need to succeed
1. Completion (or near completion) of a doctoral qualification in applied mathematics, computational mathematics, biomedical engineering, computer science, or related field.
2. Demonstrated experience in mathematical modelling and strong programming skills, preferably in languages such as Python, MATLAB, or Julia.
3. Demonstrated academic research experience evidenced by publications in high quality research journals and conferences.
