Associate Lecturer in Nursing (2 positions available) in the Faculty of Health

  • Term: Ongoing, full-time basis
  • Remuneration: $96,342 to $130,727 pa (LEVA) (inclusive of $81,410 to $110,466 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an Associate Lecturer in Nursing (2 positions available) to join School of Nursing, Faculty of Health.

The School of Nursing has an exciting opportunity for two Associate Lecturers to join our team. We invite outstanding registered nurses to apply for an ongoing, full-time Associate Lecturer position in Nursing. The successful candidate will be committed to a balanced academic role and to actively preparing the next generation of registered nurses while advancing their research and leadership. The role includes but is not limited to the coordination of units, teaching and assessment of academic units of study, assisting clinical facilitators and other clinical staff working with students on placement, providing academic support for students both on campus and on placement, supervising students and facilitating clinical learning, and ensuring the quality of student learning experiences.

What you need to succeed

1. Completion of a Masters degree with significant progress toward a doctoral qualification or PhD in a nursing or health care related field and a current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA). As well as additional certification required for ongoing clinical practice or clinical supervision (Blue Card, CPR, first aid, and full vaccination including an approved COVID19 vaccine).

2. Demonstrated excellence in, and highlevel understanding of, the full scope of Australian contemporary nursing practice.

3. Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching including the ability to embed future-focused thinking in the development of scholarly and innovative approaches to teaching and learning in clinical settings. 

4. Experience engaging in nursing and interdisciplinary health research with the ability to undertake additional/further research. 

5. Strong organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to coordinate activities, work to deadlines and supervise clinical placements.

6. Well-developed aptitude for teamwork and proven ability to work collaboratively. 

7. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
