  • Remuneration: The total remuneration range is $168,578 to $194,406 pa (LEVC) (inclusive of $142,451 to $164,275 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading).
  • Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Senior Research Fellow - Health AI Implementation to join School of Public Health and Social Work, Faculty of Health.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Research Fellow to help lead a growing program of research on the design, evaluation and implementation of AI and digital technologies in health care. The program is anchored in participatory and implementation focused approached, working with consumers, people with lived experience, clinicians and health services partners to co-design tools that are usable, trustworthy and equitable. The ideal candidate is someone who shares this focus and brings capability that extends it. The appointee will work with other AusHSI researchers to develop and undertake research in the co-design, development and implementation of digital health and health AI solutions in health and community settings, often in collaboration with health service partners.

Based at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, AusHSI currently leads a range of large funded research programs (including funding from NHMRC, MRFF, ARC, among other sources). AusHSI also completes a range of health service consultancy projects and provides paid expertise and input into a wide range of state and national research activities into the organisation, funding, and delivery of health services..


What you need to succeed

  1. Completion of a doctoral qualification in health services research or a closely related field (for example, but not limited to implementation science, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social sciences, public health, medicine, nursing, psychology, health informatics or human computer interaction).
  2. Demonstrated experience conducting research on the design, evaluation and implementation of AI and digital technologies in a health care setting.
  3. Demonstrated experience in qualitative, mixed-methods or multi-method research and analysis, including proficiency in Excel, Word and/or NVivo, with the ability to undertake rigorous context mapping using a range of methodologies.
  4. Demonstrated experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams and across organisational boundaries, with a proven ability to engage and collaborate with people with lived experience and multiple stakeholder groups.
  5. Demonstrated track record of independent contribution to research evidenced by publications and/or success in attracting research support.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
