Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow (2 positions available)

- Term: Fixed-term, full-time basis for up to 3 years
- Remuneration: $134,910 to $160,222 (LEVB) or $165,273 to $190,593 (LEVC); (inclusive $114,000 to $135,390 (LEVB) salary p.a. or $139,657 to $161,054 (LEVC) salary p.a.; 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow (2 positions available) to join School of Public Health and Social Work, Faculty of Health.
We are seeking an experienced Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to provide a range of research activities that support AusHSI and diabetes foot disease research. The appointee will work with other AusHSI researchers and health service partners to provide research activities and support for a suite of health services research and clinical research projects (including those funded by NHMRC and MRFF grants) focused on the diabetes foot disease priority areas of (but not limited to): quantifying disease burdens, identifying key risk factors and evaluating novel treatments. There will also be the opportunity for the appointee to develop new projects and obtain competitive funding, in alignment with diabetes foot disease priority areas and the objectives and approval of the AusHSI leadership team.

Based at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, AusHSI currently leads several NHMRC, MRFF and other Category 1 research funded projects, completes a range of health service consultancy projects and provides paid expertise and input into a wide range of Queensland and national research activities into the organisation, funding, and delivery of health services.
What you need to succeed
Level B (Research Fellow)
- Completion of a Masters, Doctoral or PhD qualification in diabetes foot disease research, health services research, clinical research or a closely related field (e.g. statistics, health economics, implementation science, public health, podiatry, nursing, psychology).
- Demonstrated experience in researching, evaluating or supporting the quantification of disease burdens, development of risk factor modelling and/or evaluating novel treatments.
- Demonstrated experience in positively contributing to multi-disciplinary research projects, including writing research proposals, reports, peer-review journal articles and developing conference presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise research students to produce high-quality research outputs (e.g. peer-reviewed journal articles, reports, theses, conference presentations, funding proposals).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate research findings effectively – in writing, in presentations and in meetings – to a range of audiences.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
Level C (Senior Research Fellow)
- Completion of a PhD in diabetes foot disease research, health services research, clinical research or a closely related field (e.g. statistics, health economics, implementation science, public health, podiatry, nursing, psychology).
- Demonstrated strong experience in researching, evaluating or supporting the quantification of disease burdens, development of risk factor modelling and/or evaluating novel treatments.
- Demonstrated experience in positively contributing to large multi-disciplinary, multi-partner research projects, including leading the writing of research proposals, reports, peer-review journal articles and developing conference presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to attract and supervise research staff and research students to produce high-quality research outputs (e.g. peer-reviewed journal articles, reports, theses, conference presentations, funding proposals).
- Demonstrated track record of scholarly and professional achievement in a discipline relevant to the role.
- Very highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead work both as part of a team and independently.
