A Day in the Life of a Senior Implementation Consultant at aXcelerate

As a Senior Implementation Consultant at aXcelerate, no two days are the same; your work is dynamic, collaborative, and focused on delivering exceptional outcomes for our customers.

You’ll typically be:

• Supporting the pre-sales process by contributing to tender responses and engaging with prospective clients during discovery sessions.
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders through regular meetings and progress reports, ensuring transparency and raising any risks, challenges, or concerns.
• Developing and maintaining key implementation artefacts, including project plans, risk registers, and more.

Sustainable futures 

The Sustainable Futures team of QCIF Data Science is dedicated to developing national infrastructure for environmental, agricultural, and urban design research. We bridge the gap between specialised domain knowledge and novel technology solutions to tackle Australia's most pressing sustainability challenges. 

About the role

We are seeking multiple positions. Roles are available for developers with skills in Applied AI, or Full Stack enterprise platform development. Remuneration will be commensurate with skills and experience. These roles will be responsible for technical delivery for designing, building, and maintaining optimised and highly available data infrastructure, pipelines, and workflows that facilitate data management, data analytics, and modelling solutions. These roles plan, design, develop, deploy, and administer frameworks and architectural approaches that scale to handle user demands. Essential Qualifications and Experience 

• An Honours or Masters degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or a related discipline with at least 7 years of experience, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or a related discipline with at least 10 years of subsequent relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
• Practical skills in software engineering and scripting languages (Python, R, Javascript, Perl, Dart, shell, PowerShell, etc.) including desktop and web-based platform development
• Practical skills and experience in design, delivery, and operation of complex systems and platforms
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD technologies and approaches
• Experience with Agile development and management methodologies
• Practical skills in designing and implementing ETL systems

Reporting to our Senior Manager – eCommerce in our Digital Lotteries team, key responsibilities include: 

• Own the GA4 stack: end-to-end setup, configuration, and continual optimisation, underpinned by a solid measurement framework. 
• Run GTM like a pro: dataLayer maintenance, custom event tracking, variables & triggers, plus routine audits that keep our data accurate and compliant. 
• Deliver insight, not just data: explore advanced GA4 segments, identify journey drop offs, and package findings into plain-language recommendations and dashboards (Looker Studio or similar) that non-technical teams act on. 
• Fuel experimentation: translate analytics into high-impact test hypotheses, help define success metrics, and partner with our eCommerce testing specialist on A/B and multivariate website testing. 
• Master attribution & audiences: refine channel-ROI models, build first-party audiences across Google & Meta, and sync segments from BigQuery/CDPs for smarter targeting and insights. 
• Champion data governance & privacy: uphold naming conventions, QA checklists, automated alerts, and privacy-centric tagging solutions, so our analytics are future-ready. 

What you'll bring: 

Mandatory 

• Hands-on GA4 ownership (implementation and ongoing optimisation). 
• Deep GTM expertise. 
• SQL / T-SQL and BigQuery (or equivalent) skills to query GA4 export tables and join CRM / transactional data for unsampled, holistic insights. 
• Proficiency in Looker Studio (or a similar tool).
