  • Remuneration: AUD$94,453 to AUD$128,163 pa (LEVA) (inclusive of AUD$79,813 to AUD$108,300 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Gardens Point (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Research Fellow in Transport Economics and Big Data Analytics, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering to join School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.

This position provides a unique opportunity to lead research projects in the applications of big data analytics and economics in transport and mobility at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). To support our research activities in Transport Engineering and Transport Big Data Analytics at QUT, we are seeking a highly motivated professional with strong publication records and advanced proficiency in machine learning, multi-level complex data engineering, emerging technologies in transport and economics analysis.

What you need to succeed

1. Completion of a doctoral qualification in Transport Engineering, Data Science, Transport Economics, or a closely related field.

2. Demonstrated experience and expertise in one or more relevant research areas, such as machine learning, data analytics, data engineering and architecture, transport engineering, and/or transport economics.

3. Proven advanced programming skills, including expertise in multi-level complex data engineering (e.g., Python, R, SQL).

4. A strong track record of publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, highlighting research productivity and quality.

5. Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the capacity to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
