The School of Mechanical, Medical and Process Engineering (MMPE), in the Faculty of Engineering is seeking a Lecturer (Level B) / Senior Lecturer (Level C) in Mechanical Engineering. The successful applicant will undertake high quality teaching in mechanical engineering across the teaching streams of Mechanical Design, Thermodynamics, Solid and Fluid Mechanics, and Dynamics.

They will conduct research aligned to the Faculty research priorities such as advanced manufacturing and process engineering, renewable energy, biomedical technologies and advanced modelling and simulation for engineering applications.

As a member of the School, the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer will contribute to high quality teaching and the overall success of the engineering degree. The candidate must be able to teach across all parts of the undergraduate degree and as well as post-graduate offerings. The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer will also contribute to innovation in teaching, through redesign of the engineering curriculum including the creation of new offerings.

The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer will be a key member of the School and Faculty’s research community, helping to advance knowledge through mechanical engineering applications and the creation of innovative and novel ideas. The candidate will have the ability to participate in multi-disciplinary research teams to address the problems of our times. The position will also assist with the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

As the candidate progresses in their career, we foresee them undertaking leadership roles within the School and support their future academic development.

The position involves collaborating with other School of Nursing staff to ensure a coordinated approach to curriculum implementation and support for research and scholarly activities relating to learning and teaching.
