Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an Operations Manager to join Research Infrastructure, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.

The Operations Manager provides leadership and management of all operations at QUT's Banyo Pilot Plant Precinct, a multi-domain precinct comprising three warehouse buildings, with specialised laboratories, workshops and enabling engineering infrastructure. The Precinct is suited to enable pilot scale research activities across a wide range of research domains, with projects conducted on an activity-based schedule allowing for flexibility and redeployment of space as research priorities evolve and mature. The role requires the provision of technical expertise and leadership to establish and operate pilot scale research facilities in civil engineering, bioprocessing and energy storage, and will drive engagement with researchers, collaborators and industry partners to manage competing research priorities and ensure all activities comply with QUT’s Work Health and Safety requirements. The role ensures the delivery of transformative research at scale for academic and industry partners through the effective management and deployment of appropriate human, physical and virtual resources. In addition, the Operations Manager ensures the design and implementation of effective and efficient systems and processes at Banyo and will provide leadership in planning future capabilities aligned with QUT’s research priorities.

Duties  

• Show innovation and technical leadership in all aspects of systems planning, architecture, deployment, development, support, performance engineering, and administration

The Senior Research Engineer (Robotics and Autonomous Systems) is skilled in both hardware and software robotic implementations. The role will involve designing and delivering systems in domains such as computer vision, artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning, and will support robotic field trials and data collection. An important component of the role is to coordinate and support a broad range of research activities within the robotics and autonomous systems domain. QUT’s Medical Engineering Research Facility (MERF) is looking for a new Animal Technician to join the team. The primary purpose of these positions is the care and maintenance of laboratory animals (with a focus on sheep and pigs) used in preclinical research at MERF.

What you need to succeed

1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of an associate diploma level qualification in Veterinary Technology or an equivalent discipline, with relevant work experience.
2. Demonstrated experience working in an animal facility, including experience in the care and husbandry of research animals and competency in standard animal husbandry techniques and procedures.
3. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to work effectively as a team member to complete work tasks.
4. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, work in a safe manner in association with provided instruction and maintain records with a high degree of accuracy.
5. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position (i.e. lift/move/carry weights of up to 12kg on a regular basis and up to 25-30kg occasionally).
6. Good written and oral communication and organisational skills, with the capacity to manage and prioritise tasks with competing demands.
7. Current Senior First Aid certificate or be willing and able to obtain one promptly.
8. A current “C” class Queensland driver’s licence (manual licence/unrestricted preferred).

We are seeking a Principal Consultant, Change Management to join Digital Business Solutions, Administrative Division.

The Principal Consultant, Change Management will play a pivotal role in leading and governing change initiatives across various Digital Transformation programs at QUT. The primary responsibility of the Principal Consultant, Change Management will be to establish and lead the Change Centre of Excellence, ensuring a consistent and effective approach to change management practices across QUT’s digital portfolios. Additionally, the role will work with project change managers to provide governance ensuring that all change activities align with organisational objectives and standards. In this dynamic role you may also be required to provide support for change activities related to the delivery of some initiatives where appropriate.
