The opportunity:
As the General Manager – Business IT & Digital Delivery, you’ll lead a large, diverse team of highly skilled technical professionals to deliver secure, innovative, and future-ready technology solutions that support Powerlink’s operations and meet the evolving needs of our customers. In a fast-paced and increasingly complex environment, you’ll set the strategic direction for our business IT and digital platforms, driving transformation through a comprehensive program of work focused on cyber security, service excellence, and commercial outcomes.
Your leadership will be key to delivering contemporary IT services that exceed customer expectations and create lasting value across the organisation. You will provide regular briefings to the Executive team and Board on critical IT and digital matters, while building strong, collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders, including out OT functions and external vendors to support major projects and ensure seamless service delivery. With a proactive approach to risk and resilience, you’ll oversee emergency response readiness for technology and security-related events; ensuring continuity, reliability, and world-class standards. You’ll also champion governance, compliance, and assurance across all operational activities, in alignment with internal policies and legislative requirements.
As a visionary and inclusive leader, you’ll foster a culture of collaboration and excellence, inspiring your team to achieve meaningful outcomes. You’ll harness internal capabilities, contractor partnerships, and supplier relationships to optimise performance and drive efficiencies. The people you'll join:
Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager Corporate Services, and as a key member of the Corporate Services senior leadership team, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving divisional performance and contributing to Powerlink’s strategic vision. As General Manager, Business IT and Digital Delivery, you’ll ensure that technology solutions effectively support the delivery of our digital program and align seamlessly with broader organisational priorities.
You’ll be part of a collective group that thrives on a culture of innovation, where a shared commitment to excellence is matched by a strong emphasis on collaboration. This dynamic environment fosters agility, adaptability, and a results-oriented mindset, empowering teams to deliver impactful outcomes for Powerlink and its stakeholders.
What you'll bring:
To be successful you’ll bring a degree in Business, Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline, coupled with significant experience in leading enterprise-wide Business IT functions within complex, 24 / 7 operational environment.
You’ll be a strategic thinker with a proven ability to translate vision into action, developing and executing IT investment roadmaps that align with organisational priorities. Your leadership style will be collaborative and empowering, with a strong track record of guiding and developing technical experts to deliver high-quality services, drive innovation and lead meaningful change.
You’ll bring proven success in building relationships and influencing across all levels of the organisation, with a clear and compelling communication style that fosters trust and alignment. Your commercial and financial acumen will enable you to manage large-scale programs and deliver outcomes that balance performance, value and sustainability.
With expertise in enterprise architecture, technology lifecycles, and information security, you’ll be equipped to navigate complexity and deliver secure, scalable solutions. You will also bring experience in managing strategic vendor partnerships and confidence in presenting at Board and Executive levels on complex and critical technical matters.
