Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Learning Technologist to join Learning and Teaching Unit, Education Portfolio, Academic Division.

As a Learning Technologist, you will be responsible for supporting staff to engage with QUT’s educational technologies and for producing quality digital media resources. Operating as a key member of the Educational Technologies and Digital Media Services team you will work collaboratively with, learning designers and other colleagues across the Learning and Teaching Unit, Digital Business Solutions, HiQ support and other key stakeholders to support academics in the design and implementation of quality learning and teaching. This includes the development of sustainable and accessible high quality educational resources that incorporate relevant and contemporary technologies and practices. You will support academics in leveraging current and emerging technologies including Generative AI to enhance their teaching practices and improve the learning experience for students.

What you need to succeed

1. Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of a degree in a relevant field together with subsequent experience in educational technologies, technology support and digital media production in a higher education environment.
2. Proven digital literacy and demonstrated experience using educational technologies including learning management systems, assessment tools, video platforms, interactive and other educational technologies.
3. Proven experience in the design and production of educational digital media resources and activities in relation to course and unit learning outcomes.
4. Demonstrated understanding of learning approaches and how they relate to the achievement of learning outcomes.
5. Proven ability to answer, prioritise, resolve, escalate and/or redirect user support requests and to test educational technologies within a high volume, high-pressure environment.
6. Demonstrated high standard of communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a range of stakeholders to support educational technologies and in the development of learning content.

The School of Mechanical, Medical and Process Engineering (MMPE), in the Faculty of Engineering is seeking a Lecturer (Level B) / Senior Lecturer (Level C) in Mechanical Engineering. The successful applicant will undertake high quality teaching in mechanical engineering across the teaching streams of Mechanical Design, Thermodynamics, Solid and Fluid Mechanics, and Dynamics.

They will conduct research aligned to the Faculty research priorities such as advanced manufacturing and process engineering, renewable energy, biomedical technologies and advanced modelling and simulation for engineering applications.

As a member of the School, the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer will contribute to high quality teaching and the overall success of the engineering degree. The candidate must be able to teach across all parts of the undergraduate degree and as well as post-graduate offerings. The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer will also contribute to innovation in teaching, through redesign of the engineering curriculum including the creation of new offerings.

The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer will be a key member of the School and Faculty’s research community, helping to advance knowledge through mechanical engineering applications and the creation of innovative and novel ideas. The candidate will have the ability to participate in multi-disciplinary research teams to address the problems of our times. The position will also assist with the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
