About us
QUT is a major Australian university with a global outlook and a 'real world' focus. We are an ambitious and collaborative institution that seeks to equip our students and graduates with the skills they will need in an increasingly disrupted and challenged world.
The School of Mechanical, Medical and Process Engineering delivers education and research into the design, manufacture and operation of Biomedical, Chemical and Mechanical systems and processes. The School works across all scales, from nanoscale to personal devices to industrial complexes – building pilot plants to put our research into action. The School builds on the engineering principles of Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Materials Engineering to create new and emerging technologies including Biofabrication, Advanced Manufacturing and Chemical Processing. We work with partners to build new, and improve existing, systems and technologies across mechanical, medical, mining, food and beverages, oil and gas, energy, waste, sugar, and chemical engineering industries. The School’s research is well aligned with the University’s real-world positioning, through partnerships across internal and external boundaries..
