About the role

Transmax is seeking to appoint a Senior Graphic Designer – Level 3 on a parental leave cover role for 18 months max-term to join our close-knit, high-performing marketing team.

Your role will be taking over responsibility for leading and overseeing the visual design aspects of a range of projects, collaborating with internal teams to create compelling visuals and ensure brand consistency as well as the design of STREAMS road schematics and user interfaces for state government road agency customers.

A snapshot of your day-to-day 

• Design road schematics and user interfaces for a range of customer projects.
• Road schematics include relevant elements of the physical road environment and allow customers (users) to view real-time traffic in a simple and stylised display of the transport network.
• The schematics are initially submitted in the form of technical road construction plans. The designer will need to translate these into a vector map depicting all the lane alignments, intersections, ramps, and landmarks (depicting the actual road as best as possible) 
• Present the user interfaces and schematics visually so that information is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to find.
• Design and execute print or digital marketing assets and visual content for various platforms (Mailchimp EDMs, web assets, presentations, marketing collateral, and corporate reports).
• Maintain design guidelines and a consistent visual identity across all projects, ensuring strong brand recognition.
• Create infographics to convey complex information in a visually appealing way.

About you

We are seeking a highly organised Graphic Designer demonstrating attention to detail and the ability to multitask and problem solve concurrent issues.

You will be a motivated self-starter and hold a Qualification in Graphic Design (Industrial Design, Visual Communication or similar) and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Graphic or Visual Design field. 

Your toolkit for success will include:

• Advanced experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat)
• Ability to read technical documentation (road construction plans).
• Advanced experience creating vector graphics, large-scale artwork.
• Experience in creating maps.
• Experience in print and digital media and design of marketing collateral (brochures, annual reports, posters, style guides, Mailchimp newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, infographics, pre-press).
• Project management – managing design projects from concept to completion, including timelines and deliverables.
• Brand management.

Ideally, you will have:

• Adobe After Effects
• WordPress content management system
• Figma
