About the Role
The Senior Communications & Media Advisor provides the strategic conceptualisation, planning and implementation of TRI’s internal and external communications and the management of media.
The role provides high-level expert media and communications advice, training, coaching and briefings, and works to position TRI as a world leader in translational research. The new biomanufacturing facility ENTRI (due to be officially opened 20 October 2026 with lead-up PR opportunities) will be a key media and PR focus. Promoting the Core Facilities, the TRI Foundation and the CEO are also priorities to raise awareness of TRI in local and global markets.
This role is offered on a Permanent basis. It is Full-time, 38 hours per week.
Key Selection Criteria
Experience
- A minimum of seven years of experience in a professional communications and media role.
- Previous experience in media, communications (in-house or consultancy), or a related role.
- Strong understanding of media dynamics and communication strategies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and within a small dynamic team.
- Ability to manage a complex workload and work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage a team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
