About the role
We are seeking motivated IT Mainframe Application Developers (APS 5) to join our team.
As an IT Mainframe Application Developer, you will implement the design, build, testing and maintenance of various IT applications.
You will work in a scrum team and you’ll also develop and support key IT work processes including release, change, configuration, incident and problem management, whilst mentoring less experienced staff.
Your duties
· Collaborate with business partners to deliver services using an agile approach
· Supports business improvements and change initiatives
· Analyses and presents complex information suitable for the target audience
· Implements technical solutions for large-scale corporate applications
· Researches tools and methods to enhance IT platforms capabilities
Skills and experience
· Sound understanding of the Agile development framework
· Effective communication skills to provide technical and professional advice across various media channels
· Is flexible and adaptable to meet immediate and future challenges
· Has experience in building, modifying and testing COBOL modules in an ISPF environment, and knowledge or experience in CICS, JCL and DB2
Experience in DB2 tools/utilities, SQL, SCLM, Mainframe Debugger, z/OS, Micro Focus Enterprise Developer, Git code management, and test automation tools are desirable but not essential.
