Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is seeking a driven and experienced Data Analyst in the Data Platform Services team to join our high-performing IT Branch. We are looking for a professional who exhibits strong technical leadership and is passionate about driving business intelligence solutions. You'll be an integral part of our efforts to optimise data architecture for on-premises and cloud platforms.

As the Data Analyst, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Provide technical leadership, guiding the development, support, and enhancement of advanced application systems with your mastery of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Champion the evolution of TMR's on-premise and cloud-based architecture, driving the optimisation of application development processes through sound advice and insightful reports.
• Architect and execute cutting-edge data solutions, including warehouses, lakes, and pipelines, serving as the backbone for sophisticated analytics and business intelligence.
• Offer expert technical advice and mentorship, ensuring project deliverables are met within budget and on schedule. 
• Foster IT best practices within TMR, mentoring peers in efficient system development and leading the way in technical documentation reviews.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives across information management and technology disciplines, enhancing organisational excellence.
• Skilfully troubleshoot data issues, delivering robust solutions that elevate system dependability and effectiveness.

Experience and Skills:

• Proven skills in DevOps methodologies and tooling, including Git, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
• Conceptual or applied knowledge of BI utilities like Datastage, Cognos Analytics, PowerBI, Tableau, or equivalent.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in BI solution architecture for both cloud-based and on-premise systems.
• Expertise in Data Modelling, Advanced SQL, and mastery over data flow processes including ingestion, transformation, storage, and visualisation.
• Proficiency within Azure or AWS ecosystems, embracing services and data tools such as Data Factory, Databricks, Redshift, Glue, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
